Labor Day Weekend

I'm sure you were all worried that I must have dropped out of school because I haven't blogged in so long. Well to tell you the truth, I've been busy playing with Jack and Jess; I just haven't taken the time to put the pictures in my computer to do something useful with.

So, now that they are in my computer, they will be appearing in blog posts soon. We had a really fun Labor Day weekend. (you remember that, about a month ago). We went to the state fair on Wednesday night. Partially because it was the last one in Lincoln, and partially because it is just fun. I am indifferent to the fact that the fair is moving. One less fun thing to do, but now they can bulldoze the buildings and put some parking in for Devaney.

We went with Jim, Nicki, and James. Jack loves the movie Cars right now so he was really excited to see the tractors at the fair. He was a little disappointed that the tractors don't tip over like in the movie we explained that Nebraska tractors are harder to wake-up than the ones in Radiator Springs.
We went to the petting zoo and animal birthing pavilion while we were at the fair. Jack really enjoyed seeing the animals and helped me feed some of them.

He was really excited to have his picture taken as a farmer. There was a Goat with an underbite...like a Slingblade underbite. It reminded me of Pershing's dog Martha.

When we got to the animal birthing center there were baby pigs. We showed one to Jack and he said "hot dogs". I guess he knows what is up.

We headed to Holdrege after work/school on Thursday. Jack thought clothes were overrated but that shoes were necessary that night.
Friday I had another fun lunch with my friends (I really like being able to do this). Then we packed up and headed for the cabin.
Dad took a few really great pictures of a sunrise one morning.
Jack loved going for walks with Papa. They went out in the mornings and would bring neat things back like wild gourds.
Jess and Dad also went dove hunting. They brought back two doves and showed them to Jack. Jack said, "birdies, tweet, tweet."
We had lots of fun walking along the beach and going for boat rides. We did have to dig the pontoon motor out of the mud and pull it back into the water, but that was not as bad as it could have been.
Bonars came up to visit one afternoon. We had such a good time with them. We took a boat ride to the north end to look for birds. We saw pelicans, turkey vultures, herons, and a flock of turkeys. It was very successful.

It was a great weekend and we loved spending time with Grammy and Papa. We played lots of wii. Dad even broke his toe on the wii fit; yes, broke his toe!
