Jack's Birthdays

Birthdays you ask? Yes, Jack had four different birthday celebrations for his second birthday.
The first of the marathon celebrations was at his school. Jack's birthday fell on a Sunday so he had to choose between celebrating early or late. Since another child had a birthday on the 12th (Monday) Jack had to celebrate early...so we celebrated on Thursday. Jack took play-doh and Eileen's cookie for treats.

Then Grandma and Grandpa came to town on Saturday. They had to drive to town in a snow storm!!! I still cannot believe that it snowed on his birthday.
Ok, it is not like we were buried in snow, but more than I can remember that early in October. Jack thought it was fun to get to go out and play in it.
Jack really enjoyed opening presents...slowly, making sure to play with each one as he opened them.

That evening we went to Shogun, a Japanese teppanyaki restaurant. It was the first time Rod and Phyillis had ever been to a restaurant like that. Jack was very concerned about getting to order his own rice and we made sure that the waitress took his order.
When we got home we had cake. Phyllis had a "Lightning McQueen" cake made from someone in Bertrand. Jack loved the frosting!
On Sunday we did a grandparent swap and Mom and Dad came down after Rod and Phyllis left. They brought Cori to play too. Cori was super helpful opening presents. I wrapped Jack's presents in a diaper box and she asked "Why is Jack getting diapers?"

One of Jack's favorite presents is a pizza kit.
It came with an apron...that he doesn't wear often (kinda like pants).
That afternoon Jimi, Nicki, and James came over for cake too.
That evening we went for supper at Lee's chicken. Jack got a special birthday treat there too.

Two weekends later we had the final celebration. It was Anna's 1st birthday that week too, so we did a double celebration because Bill's family was going to be in town.
Friday evening we went to Shogun with Bill's family. We all had delicious fun food. Jess ordered a California roll for an appetizer so the girls had their first taste of sushi. Caitie had half a roll and put it in her mouth...her eyes got big and I asked her if she liked it. She shook her head no, but she finished her bite, so I'm very proud of her for being so big.

On Saturday, Bill, Chris, Jess and I went to the football game (if you can call it that). Actually I really enjoyed the game and was glad that I was there and not at home because everyone who watched it on tv said it was the worst game they'd ever watched. After the game we had a birthday celebration at our house for Jack and Anna. (Hopefully others have more pictures of the party because I was having too much fun to take many; check back for a picture update).
Jack still enjoyed opening presents...once again I had his diaper box full of little things, it did not confuse Cori this time though.
We had such a good time celebrating Jack's birthday. Thank you to all of you who helped celebrate. Oh, and by the way, he's totally two years old!!
