Caitie did you miss me?... No, but I miss Gus.

Just after Father's Day we had to put Gus to sleep. He was 13 years old and very lumpy, so it was time for him to go to the big hunting field in the sky. (I know these are pictures of Gus from Christmas, but he didn't have a Father's Day sweater)

This is Gus after chasing dad on the lake.

He always looked happy!

We marched out to the spot where we sprinkled Jarvis' ashes and held the service there. Bill began the service with a story about an old pastor who always read John 3:16-18 not just 3:16.
Here's dad opening up the urn.
We expected a cardboard box like Jarvie came in, but were surprised with this urn.
Dad sprinkled some ashes...

Bill sprinkled some ashes...
I sprinkled some ashes and spoke about Rose Nylund's ideas of a separate heaven for animals.

Natalie spread some ashes.
Jack and Cori were less than entertained.

Belle sniffed around. She really tried to hide her emotions.
And the closing hymn was "How much is that doggie in the window?"

It was a really touching service, we might all need to be committed, but touching none the less.
We'll always love our "Guster Buster Munster Monster."
