A New Years Letter

This year I am writing a New Years letter because I got behind before Christmas, which means next year you might be looking forward to a Martin Luther King Jr. Day letter.

We have had a wonderful year that has flashed by. I do not feel like it was long ago that I was only half way done with law school, now I am preparing to start my last semester. Graduating will be truly overwhelming. I am looking forward to being done with school but job hunting and real work await and terrify me!! I have really enjoyed my job at the law office and most of my classes have been fun, so I am extremely lucky.

Jess is still at Nelnet and has advanced to the top of his position. He will be taking over interim team lead duties in January so he is busy learning a new position. He is a wonderful father and husband. I would not be able to do what I do without him, I am truly blessed and try never to forget that. The end of May we were able to take a vacation to Mexico just the two of us. It was a wonderful opportunity to relax and focus on each other.

Now that you have patiently suffered through Jess and me, I'll move onto Jack (I know that is why you are reading this anyway). He is such a wonderful, smart, polite little boy. He is two years old and sometimes his actions are a glaring reminder of that, but most of the time he's just a really good little boy.

He loves going to school and talks about his friends and teachers all the time at home. I try to spend a bit of time in the room each day when I pick him up so I get to know the kids and teachers better too. We have been so lucky to have Jack at that school. I don't think of it as a daycare but an all day preschool because he is always learning and growing because of his WONDERFUL teachers. They have helped him learn so much, but most importantly, they did all the hard work potty-training him.

We enjoyed baseball games, picnics, four long weekends at the lake, and several adventures to the zoo or other parks. Jack loved having Laura stay with us for a week this summer, and is always talking about each of his cousins, especially Cori. We also enjoyed our visit from Nonnie this fall.

God has truly blessed us this year and we look forward to what he has in store for us during our transitions next year and wish blessing for you in 2010 as well.
