Happy 10th of August...er, 4th of July!

I finished my class the week after the 4th of July. It is just so much easier to upload pictures with the school's fast internet, so there, that's my excuse for not blogging about our fun time for over a month!

We had a really fun 4th of July weekend. It started off with a parade at Jack's daycare. The kids Jack's age and younger were pulled in decorated wagons and the bigger kids walked around the block twice. It is very cute, but the staff feels ridiculous. Jack actually cried once he realized that he had to keep going in the wagon and was not going to get out with me at the corner.
After the Parade, we headed to Holdrege by way of Kearney. We had dinner with Trevor. The next morning we headed to the cabin. We got there just before Bonars, including the girls, were leaving, so we gave them a quick hello/goodbye.

After lunch it was time to head to the beach.

Several times over the weekend people mistook me for Laura, and Laura for me...
not when you could see her bikini body, but when we were covered up.

Jack and Cori both liked Jack's new firetruck float.

We spent the afternoon at my favorite beach area away from right in front of the cabin. I always loved this area because 1) REAL SAND!! and 2) you can climb the cliffs as Natalie and Caitie quickly remembered.

Jack really liked playing in the sand and driving the boats.

One day, Rod and Phyllis came up for lunch because they had never seen the lake or the cabin. There was a cabin for sale, but Phyllis didn't think that the cabin life was for her...I think Rod considered it.
One morning Jack and Papa were the first ones up so Jack got to go for a walk with Papa. I have so many fun memories of going for walks with Dad at the cabin (and elsewhere) growing up. Jack was ready for breakfast when he got home; Papa was ready for a nap with Anna.
Another great thing about the cabin is that it's always ok to spend more time in bed!

Jack and Cori also enjoyed the swimming pool on the deck. Natalie thought she would just put her feet in for a soak.

Cori and Jack thought otherwise.

And Natalie ended up really wet! It was so sweet of her to let the kids throw that freezing water on her. Jack got a kick out of it each time he threw it at her.
They all decided to pile into the tub to warm up.

Jack and Anna played a little, too. Anna was too busy starting to crawl to pay much attention to him.
Caitie played a lot of blockus over the weekend.

We stopped in Holdrege on our way back to Lincoln for lunch. We also got to pick from fresh veggies from the garden. I am really into gardening this year...they do the work and I help them pick it and eat it, a true green thumb!
