Well, after keeping up with the Pershing family blogs, I have aspired to create one of my own. It would be a much better blog if Emily Pershing could author my posts; she is fantastic at her blog! Unfortunately, you are left with my meager postings.
I spend my daylight hours locked in the dark towers of the law school. Actually it is a very well lit two-story building with several wonderful windows and sky lights, but I often feel as if I am trapped in the confines of an evil wizard whose method of torture is reading cases, statutes, and treatises.
Jess spends his day as Peter Gibbons 
from office space stuck in the confines of his cubicle. Nelnet tries to make it seem glamorous by calling his office the "fountain" suites, but it actually is a cubicle in the basement. He would much rather be in school or even better yet, at home with Jack!
Jack loves the time he spends at daycare (I call it school), he is
one of a few boys among several girls. One even shares his birthday! Evey day we get a list of his activities. He is really on the move these days now that he is over his RSV. That was a tough couple of weeks, that included several nebulizer treatments a day. He has now masterd rolling over from both directions, and he is scooting. Don't get too excited though, he scoots on his back using his head and heels. It is very cute, but will not promote crawling, except maybe the crab walk.Except for the teachers who get to spend their days with Jack, I am most jealous of how Blackie spends her days. She sleeps in her bed, she sleeps on the couch, she sometimes sneaks into our bed, but there is not a lot of energy exerted by her between 8 p.m. and 4 p.m. Yes, that equates to about four hours where she is moderately active.
Our best times are when we are all home and awake. I fear that we are entering teething. If drool were a commodity, we'd retire! Our restful nights have morphed into bouts of sleeping and feeding. But nothing could be better than cuddling our little guy.
We love visitors and you are welcome any time. I may put you to work, but we'd love to see you!

I scooted the same way Jack does, and my mom said I got so fast at it she could barely catch me. I also rubbed all my hair off, creating a bald spot. I went straight from that to walking. Good luck with it- he seems really fun!

Oh, goodness! I fee honored to be mentioned on the same page with such a cute baby. He's amazing! I wish we could meet him in person. I can't quite tell if he has your red hair, Abby...if he does, forget about it. I go all gooey for red-headed baby boys. They're the best.
Here at the Pershing dog ranch, we also heartily approve of black dogs and think Blackie looks perfect and sweet...and well-named.
I am really looking forward to following along as you go through this wonderful, busy, exciting stage of life!
Hi Abby I like your blog very much but I think it could be improved by having more pictures of Jack in it. Just a suggestion from an unbiased observer. He is really quite adorable. Love, Mom
