The Real World - Lincoln

So the day after we got back from Cancun, Jess had the day off. I worked a couple hours. Jack played all day.
We brought Jack a cool shark hat from Cancun. He has a lot of shark stuff right now and I taught him what a shark says...what does a shark say? "Na na" (to the theme of JAWS).

Blackie was thrilled that I was home to dress her up again.

When I got home from work, we headed out on a safari. The Lincoln Parks and Rec and the zoo have created a program called safari where you go to different parks around town and make rubbings in your safari book. Jack has not shown any interest in helping with the rubbing, but he's glad to get to go to so many parks to play. We went to the Abbott Sports Complex and walked around their pond after making our rubbing. Jack spotted the play equipment while we were on our walk so we headed over.
He had a lot of fun playing on the slides.

He also tried out the glider.
and wanted to climb up the slide.

The next weekend we went on another safari at the Rose Garden by the zoo.

It was a really fun walk because there were so many pretty flowers to look at while we searched for the safari post.
The Safari book includes a clue to help you find the post at each location...this clue was not helpful at all and it was only by chance that we found the post.

Jack has really enjoyed being a helper lately. He loves to sit on the counter while I make dinner each evening. He also liked helping me make sugar cookies. He stood on his stool and stole dough until I made Jess take him away so he wouldn't get sick.

Jack also helped us babysit his friend James that Sunday. It was really fun to have James for the evening while is parents were busy. James loves Jack's Elmo toy because he just talks and talks to him.

We've been quite busy since Jess and I returned to the "real world" but are glad to be back.
