We have had a few really fun fall weekends so far this year. The weather didn't really feel like fall, but perfect summer weather so I won't complain.

One day we drove to Nebraska City to see all the fall fun they had to offer. Really we didn't do anything that wouldn't be fun in spring or summer that day, we were a little too early for apples and things like that.

After a picnic at the
Arbor Lodge State Park we headed to the
Arbor Day Farm. At the Arbor Day Farm they have awesome trails through the trees with lots of fun side exhibits throughout. The one above was to enhance your ability to hear the sounds of nature...and look like an idiot in the process.

They have a 50 ft. high tree house that really gives you a neat view of the treetops. It was good practice for Jack on the stairs.

There are lots of neat eagle scout projects throughout the park too. This was one that looked like a bird that you were able to crawl up onto a platform for a "birds eye view."

There was also a
three little bears section. Jack found a chair that was "just right!"

They also have an outdoor classroom with lots of fun things. Jack was really quite a trooper so he enjoyed a big ice cream sundae while Jess and I had a wine tasting. They have several wines that are delicious...but the peach wine was not one of them.

He was pooped by the end of our afternoon though.
At the end of September we went home to Holdrege for our friends Vickie and Mike's wedding. They had a nice wedding and a really fun reception. They had
The Funkeys dueling pianos at the reception.

Jack had lots fo fun playing with my friend Jami's sons Caden and Shay. Caden is about four months younger than Jack so they will have more and more fun as they grow up.

Jack stayed at the reception until the play-doh was not fun anymore then he went back to Grammy and Papa's.

Jess and I went back to the reception after we put Jack to bed and had lots of fun with our friends. It was the first time we had all been together at one time in about a year and a half.

It was also Jami's birthday so there were birthday drinks involved.

Jack had lots of fun playing farm with Grammy...

and he tried his hand as a piano man after the wedding.

As fun as it was to be able to go to the wedding, it was also sad because Vickie sold her house. Jessi and I took our last pictures together at her house.

We re-created our first day of fourth grade too. (I'll try to dig up the picture). Believe it or not, I look much cooler on this banana seat bike than I did on my first day of 4th grade with my bike helmet.

Another weekend before the weather turned (I'll get to that in another post soon), we had a picnic for dinner at Pioneers Park.

We had a lot of fun on our picnic and Blackie was happy to be included.

We have had more than three fun weekends this month, my same excuse applies - we have been having too much fun to take pictures!
