March Maddness and Spring Break

We have been having sooo much fun that I have been too busy to blog (or study much), but we have been having LOTS of fun. We are really glad that the weather has been so nice lately. Even if March came in a little like a lion, and I expect it to leave like a lion, we have have had a rather "lambish" month.

Jack has really enjoyed getting to do so many activities and one of his favorite activities is helping us make sure we have everything we need in the diaper bag for our outings. He does this by taking everything out of the bag while we are not looking...he does this with my school bag too. One evening, he was too preoccupied to eat while he was in his high chair, so he ate his dinner under the kitchen table.
As I said, we have been getting ready for fun, so we bought Jack some "flip-flops." He is slowly getting used to wearing these strange shoes that make his piggies feel weird.

I have been busy sorting through the clothes that don't fit. We had a pair of overalls that were from when Jess was little. We let Jack play around in these one afternoon. He looked really cute in them but they are too short. I thought he looked a little like a Tom Saywer or a hobo (a really cute hobo).
I had spring break the weekend of Mom's birthday so we headed to Holdrege. It was really fun driving in on Friday afternoon because the snow geese and the cranes were around. The whole lake at Mormon Island in Grand Island was white because it was covered in geese.

The Barwicks came to Holdrege to have a birthday lunch for Mom. While the babies (and the teenagers) napped, Dad, Steph, Scott, and I went on a bird watching outing. It actually was a bust until we got to the river. We were able to watch a large group of cranes come in and land in a pasture. The cranes seem much more enjoyable and exciting when you don't live right in the middle of them.

When we got home, the kids had a few minutes to play before Barwicks left. Jack and Cori thought it was fun to be outside running around.

After Cori left Jack played in the bed of the truck. He thought it was fun, but the chalk didn't work too well.

Jack had lots of fun playing with Papa and I think he will be a lot like Natalie. "Papa, Papa" and he seems to like shoulder rides a lot too!

Jack also really, really, really, really liked Belle. He was always looking for her and we even woke up one morning to him calling for her. I shot this video on my camera and like a dork I turned the camera sideways so sorry...but it is really just so you can hear the cute way he says "Belle."

One reason we came home that particular weekend was for a wedding. My friend Nichole got married that day. We all went to the reception for a while and had a good time. Jack had a lot of fun playing and really impressed my friends with his animal impressions.
We took Jack home to put him to bed and went back to party. It was fun to spend time with some high school friends. It had been quite a while since Jami, Drew, Ashley, and I had all hung out together. On Sunday, Jess and I headed back to Lincoln to begin a house painting project. We took off Monday and Tuesday from work and painted a few rooms in our house. It was a fulfilling yet frustrating experience. I have been ready to make these walls my own and feel like I mabye over-reacted in selecting paint colors, but we are finished painting and trying to re-fill the wall with the perfect accessories. (I'll post a couple shots soon)

We finished painting and cleaning up around 12:30 on Tuesday and Jack came home around 3:30, so we didn't really have anytime to relax without Jack, but is was nice to spend a little time with just the two of us.

The rest of the week I worked some extra hours but REALLY enjoyed having some time away from school. I am gearing up for finals because they begin in a few weeks. Wish me luck and I'll try to post before the end (I'll probably use it as an excuse not to study).
