Forget about Little Miss Sunshine, we have "Widdle Miss Wed Oak!" for those of you who don't speak Caitie that is Little Miss Red Oak.
On Friday night I got a call from Caitie and she said, "I was in widdle Miss Wed Oak, AND I WON!!!!!!" Sure enough, she won in her age group.
She had to answer questions about living in Red Oak, and what she wanted to be when she grew up (a cake decorator).
She had to wait patiently while the other little girls answered their questions and the judges tabulated the results.
The judges got it right for her age group because she won!

and she got a crown, and flowers, and balloons, and a sash!
The judges must have been tired by the time they got to the older girls because Laura was only the runner-up, but a co-winner in our eyes.
Natalie had a bit of bum luck because she drew a hard question, "What song best describes you?" I would have been stumped too if I had to come up with that on the spot. She would have been the co-winner with Laura in our eyes, so forget the real winner! Little Miss Red Oak is a tie, Laura and Natalie Butz!
They too had to wait their turns, and I think Natalie could have won based on her posture alone, what a poised young lady.
and she's such a good sport, so if there was a Miss Congeniality award, she would have won!
She's helping Caitie arrange her sash and flowers for the group photo.
It was a special weekend in Red Oak, and there was a parade to celebrate. The Little Miss Red Oak girls got to be in it. Here's Caitie with her beauty queen wave.

Laura said that riding in the convertible was more fun than Disney World!!
Natalie had a great time walking in the parade too, plus she got to show off her High School Musical outfit from her tumbling recital. GO WILDCATS!
