Fall Fun!

We have had a lot of fun in the past couple weeks. Here are a few of the highlights. We went to a pumpkin patch. Sunwest wholesale growers has a little pumpkin patch just on the edge of Lincoln. It is a great little place to go for a quick pumpkin patch experience...with Jack, a quick experience is all there is time for. We went with Drew, Coy, and Maggie.

The boys thought these giant pumpkins were pretty cool!Jack loved the hayrack ride to the pumpkins.
Jack thinks sitting in a pile of pumpkins all by himself is about the coolest thing he's ever done!Another day we spent the afternoon outside feeding Blackie grass.
We went to see Anna (see blog below). Laura and Catie raked all the leaves into a pile so Jack and Cori could "jump" in them. Laura made a cool pumpkin woman filled with leaves for their front porch, check the Update below.
Jack was unsure how much he liked the pile of leaves.

Mom stayed in Red Oak longer to help with the new baby so she sent this picture of Caitie in her "Easy Bake" cap with her pumpkin.
Seeing Caitie's pumpkin put us in the mood to finally carve one of ours.
Jack loved helping me clean out the pumpkin. He especially likes putting the lid on.

He thought it was a lot of fun to use such a big spoon.

He wasn't so sure about the pumpkin guts. However, Blackie was quite interested in them.

He really dug his hands in and helped out.
We call this Jack's spooky "him-o-lantern".

We ended the month in the traditional manner (trick-or-treating)Jack was a doctor, so I was the nurse. We said we were going to dress Jess as a head wound patient, but we never got around to doing that. Oh, and by the way, I'm quitting law school so I can go back to school and get a job where I wear scrubs every day...what was I thinking choosing business suits over scrubs?Jack practiced handing candy out...

when it came time to actually hand it to strangers, he kinda flaked.
We danced to some spooky music.
(Thank you Vickie for the cool scrubs!!!)
Our neighbor Bethany came to see us.
We practiced our fisher price medical skills on the dog...
she had a fever :(
Jack really loves candy, and he doesn't even know what it tastes like. The little wrapped packages are just so fun to play with.

UPDATE:
Here are some cute pictures of the girls from Halloween.
Red (Natalie), Leaf Lady (see above), Scooby Doo (Caitie), Sweet Pumpkin (Anna), and Captan Butz (Laura).
Anna had a bit of a sugar rush.

Ellianna "Anna" Lou

She's finally here!!
On October 22, Bill and Christie had their beautiful baby girl. She's so precious, such a tiny little thing with a perfect little round face.
Her sisters are so excited that she is finally here. We went to see her but everyone had to fight Natalie to hold the baby. Actually there is no fighting necessary, Natalie is just such a loving big sister, she always wants to hold Anna. You can't blame her.

Caitie had a slumber party with Jack and me, but all the big girls tried out the pool.

Happy Birthday to Jack!!

We had a really fun party for Jack on his birthday. We had people come over for the Husker game, so it was Husker themed. It was a great game, much better than I was expecting, but they still lost in overtime.
Enough about the game. We had so much fun playing and eating and playing and eating...
All of the kids liked the new toys Jack got. Jack got one that was really fun and threw balls all over the living room. Coy thought that was lots of fun to chase them.

Phyllis had this shirt made for Jack's party, it's Huskers on the front.

Jack enjoyed opening his presents. We opened a few presents early in the party because a couple of my friends could only stay for a while and Jess' family didn't want to stay too late.

We played outside for a long time. Jack is still getting used to the feel of the grass on his feet.
Catie and Cori enjoyed playing with Blackie until Blackie licked Cori. Cori was not thrilled.

Jack practiced sitting on the railing, looking cool with Daddy and Natalie.
Jessi and Trevor pretended that they were taking senior pictures...with beer.
We had Eileen's cookie and red velvet cupcakes. Mom made the delicious cupcakes. We discovered the next day that red velvet makes red diapers.

Here are a bunch of shots of Jack eating his birthday cupcakes. They made a delightful mess without being too much to clean up, except the high-chair straps are stained red.

After cake and cookie it was time to open the rest of the presents. Jack is so loved and got so many neat things. Thank-you's will arrive eventually, I promise.

Cori thinks it's time to say "bye-bye" and I agree, check back soon! Thanks!
